fox 5's stacy cohan joins us live in district heights with more on this one. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. this is just an incredible accident and it did cost three lives. we are on marlboro pike right at penn crossing drive between here and oakwood lane where the road is shut down for the accident ads the investigation continues. it happened just after midnight. he have we have some video to give you some idea of how severe this was. an ambulance had just left the fire station on the way to a call when an suv, a large gmc suburban, came speed ago long going the wrong way on the road according to a police report. the ambulance sweived to try to avoid a crash. the suv sideswiped the ambulance and the suv went straight into a brick wall, hit a utility pole, flipped over on its roof. all three occupants of that suv, all three males, were pronounced dead on the scene. the folks in the ambulance, the two fire ems workers were transported to a local hospital. fortunately, they apparently are going to be just fine. the entire side of that ambulance was sha

thank you for joining us early. tucker is in now to tell us about this weather that we're dealing with. yesterday, we had quite a bit of heavy rain. i came in 67 miles from west into the district and ran into just a few showers. >> well, we have more on the way. yesterday, we had tornado warnings. we had some problems across some of the area. others did not have any problems. some extremely heavy rain pushing up through front royal, cull pep eric leesburg, reston, you are right on the edge of it. you get the idea there, moving from south to red. you see the dark yellows and reds. we have a flash flood watch in effect for locally heavy rain until 8:00. humidity, 87%. feels very tropical out there. area of low pressure will pass to our west today and our conditions will improve as we have a frontal system through here. early rain, afternoon sun. some sun by newport and more sun by late this afternoon. highs in the low 80s. so temperature-wise, we will be nice. should be a gradual improvement. >> thank you. julie wrigh
